Liva Auto
On Going

\\ overview

Liva Auto is an online automotive marketplace developed for the Indonesian market. The platform was created to simplify the process of buying and selling vehicles through a dedicated digital experience. Starting as a greenfield project, the initiative aimed to establish a scalable marketplace that could connect customers with vehicle listings while providing a structured and trustworthy purchasing journey. As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for the project from the proposal stage through delivery. My responsibilities included UX research, wireframing, high-fidelity design, prototyping, design specifications, and quality assurance. The project spanned more than six months and required close collaboration with stakeholders, developers, and designers while navigating evolving business requirements and technical constraints.

\\ design process

The project began as a completely new product initiative with no existing design foundation. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the client-facing team, I helped translate business requirements into user flows, information architecture, and product concepts. One of the biggest challenges during this phase was the evolving nature of the platform, as requirements, features, and priorities changed multiple times throughout the project. My primary focus was defining the platform structure and designing the core marketplace experience. I designed the majority of the customer-facing journeys, including vehicle discovery, search, filtering, vehicle details, and purchasing flows. A significant portion of the work involved refining user flows to ensure the experience remained intuitive despite continuous changes in scope and business requirements. Throughout the project, I created wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, a design system, and detailed design specifications. Internal prototype reviews were conducted regularly to validate design decisions and align stakeholders before development.

\\ leadership & outcome

As project demands increased, I collaborated with an intern who later transitioned into a full-time colleague. Beyond contributing design work, I provided mentorship, design reviews, and guidance to maintain consistency across the product while ensuring delivery timelines were met. As development progressed, the project experienced delays caused by changing client requirements, feature revisions, and ongoing alignment between business expectations and technical implementation. Several features were revised multiple times throughout development, requiring continuous design adjustments and stakeholder discussions. One of the most significant challenges involved advocating for the overall design vision. I frequently worked with developers and stakeholders to explain the rationale behind design decisions while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. I pushed for a modern, minimal, and user-focused experience while navigating differing opinions regarding implementation and visual direction. The platform ultimately launched successfully as a live product. Looking back, the project reinforced the importance of ownership, stakeholder management, and confidently defending design decisions. The experience strengthened my product thinking, communication skills, and ability to lead design efforts through uncertainty while keeping both user and business objectives aligned.
